Minimal furniture maximum function

During my sophomore year （2017） studying mechanical engineering in the United States, I began learning SolidWorks—a 3D CAD tool typically used for mechanical design. I’ve always had a natural sense of design, but because I am very bad at sketching or drawing by hand, my ideas stayed trapped in my head. SolidWorks changed everything, giving me the exact medium I needed to finally bring those concepts to life.

Dreaming of designing furniture, I modeled my first bedside table in 3D and sent the designs to my father in China, an architect who helped me refine the structural details and find a factory to produce a prototype. The initial design was sleek and stylish, but it lacked functionality—most notably, a pegboard. Over the next decade of daily use, I kept iterating, modifying the design, and integrating modular pegboards along with various customized accessories to fit real-life needs. That ten-year evolution is how this product was born
